Oh to have baby-soft skin devoid of sunspots, blemishes, and wrinkles – the truth is imperfections on our skin shouldn’t be something that controls our livelihood. Acne scars, discoloration and fine lines are all completely natural and are not something to be ashamed of. However, having healthy skin reflects a healthy lifestyle and will definitely be beneficial for you in the long run. So although we at BB don’t preach and promote perfection, we still want to emphasize on the importance of feeding our skin and bodies with non-toxic and harmless ingredients.
Here are five easy tips that you can follow to save your skin in advance:
1. Use products with natural and safe ingredients
This is a no-brainer but when your skin is not at its best, feeding it with synthetic and toxic ingredients will upset it further. Picking out the most suitable skincare product for your skin type might be a bit challenging but skincare is trial and error. You may not be able to find the right product off the bat, but opting for natural products will cause you no harm. If you’re suffering from troubled skin, we highly recommend checking out of Blissoma skincare line.
We have trial kits that target specific skin concerns like dryness and discoloration, redness, and hormonal breakouts. These kits come with step by step instructions on how you can layer on the products for maximum benefits.
2. Protect your skin from the sun
Our skin’s biggest enemy is nonother than the sun; it is the main culprit for dark spots, fine lines, wrinkles, and could sometimes even cause blisters. Our sun gives off ultraviolet (UV) rays that are harmless to our skin if exposed for a certain period of time, so it is crucial to wear SPF sunscreen whether you are soaking up the sunshine or simply running errands outdoors.
We recommend using a nutrient day cream with an SPF of at least 30, and a matching SPF lip-balm to protect those pouty lips from peeling and darkening. Our sun care products are light, natural, and made from organic ingredients that will ensure your skin is moisturized while simultaneously protecting it from any harmful rays.
3. Clean up your diet
Ever wondered why you get those little bumps on your skin after a cheat day? Well, that’s because what we feed our bodies will reflect on our skin. The saying that beauty comes from the inside definitely applies to this, and we should take extra effort to indulge in foods that makes our body, skin, and mind at ease.
Our founder’s favourite way to start the day is with a cup of coffee mixed with a spoonful of coconut oil (she likes to use Conscious Coconut’s coconut oil which has 4 times more antioxidants than your average coconut oil). Coconut oil has many different benefits when consumed first thing in the morning. This includes speeding up your metabolism so you burn more calories throughout the day, it improves your energy levels, and it helps raised your good cholesterol.
4. Keep your hydration in check
Another extremely important factor when it comes to healthy skin is water. We’re sure you’ve heard this a hundred times but staying hydrated will keep your skin flexible and moisturized. If you’re suffering from dry skin, you may just be lacking the right amount of fluids in your body.
If you’re having difficulties downing eight glasses of water everyday, we recommend spicing it up by drinking it out of a straw; a very minimal change that might make it easier for you. We have eco-friendly bamboo straws that are 100% recyclable and compostable.
5. Wear your skin with a smile!
Ultimately, having confidence in yourself is just as important. As we have mentioned, perfection is not something we preach about here at BB especially with all the unrealistic beauty standards arising in social media. Got a small blemish? Smile it away!
Pretty up your smile with our wide range of lipsticks from our vegan and cruelty-free brands. We have shades for everyone!
But remember, the best makeup you can wear is a smile on your face.
